Talking YA at the Wheeler Centre

21 September 2012

Express Media is a wonderful organisation who do great things for young writers and creators (if you don’t believe me, check out their website to see what they do!). So I’m very happy to be participating in a special event organised by Express Media in conjunction with Inside A Dog that will focus on writing YA fiction. I’ll be talking with the knowledgeable and passionate Adele Walsh (Program Coordinator, Centre for Youth Literature at the State Library).

The event is on Tuesday the 9th October, 5pm, at the Wheeler Centre. And it’s FREE (but please book). Details are here. We’ll be trying to make our discussion as relevant as possible for emerging and young writers, although of course teachers, librarians, readers, and curious folk of all sort are most welcome. Adele and I would love to see you there.

I saw you at TSOL and have to say I think you massively rock. Whilst this sentiment is 98% due to your erudition, is that you dressing like Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner? If yes, that also doesn’t hurt.

Hi Richard, I had to think back to Blade Runner…I wasn’t feeling THAT Darryl Hannah that night, but I’ll take your word for it! Glad you enjoyed the class, and best of luck with your year off/on. Cheers, Leanne
