Writing is generally a pretty solitary task, so when an opportunity arises to collaborate with another living, breathing human being, it’s pretty exciting.
I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with artist Tai Snaith for an exhibition coming up at Helen Gory Galerie titled: The best things in life aren’t things. Tai invited eight writers (Anna Krien, Geoff Lemon, Sean M Whelan, Richard Watts, Alicia Sometimes, Benjamin Law, Lorelei Vashti. and myself) to write about things that are precious to them. I’m so curious to see how our writing has inspired Tai, and what everyone else wrote about.
The opening should be fun, with readings and a performance by PHIA. It’s on Wednesday 29th June 6-8pm at Helen Gory Galerie, 25 St Edmonds Road, Prahran. Don’t fret if you can’t make it to the opening, the show will run until 23 July, giving you plenty of time to pop in for a look.
